Teaching Philosophy
Selamat datang! Language shouldn’t be a memory test. It should be an adventure.
I focus on teaching spoken Malay that people actually use. We start with common words and natural ways to say things, and I show students multiple ways to express the same idea, so they can speak flexibly and confidently. From ordering teh tarik to bargaining at a night market, we practice real-life conversations from day one. Having taught students from more than 40 countries, I know the tricky spots for other language speakers — and how to make them easy.

☕ Kopi or Teh Tarik?
Definitely Teh Tarik, of course! But it has to be ‘Kurang Manis’ (less sweet). I try to drink it less because it’s too addictive.
🗣️ Favorite Word?
“Boleh” (Can). It’s the most versatile word. Can you do it? Boleh. Is it okay? Boleh.
✈️ Travel Tip?
If you think people in the cities are friendly, visit outside, far from the cities. The people are multiple times warmer, the beaches are stunning and the food is unique!
